One of the most fascinating places in all of India, Tripura is home to stunning palaces, temples and castles.

Within a small geographical area, Tripura offers a stunning array of tourism activities.  From stunning palaces, great rock cut carvings and stone images, amazing temples, hill stations and wildlife sanctuaries there is always something to impress in this state.

Palms, rattan, bamboo and mahogany amongst a host of other evergreen forests hide the quiet gateway to Nagaland.

Rich in flora and fauna, Nagaland has a good amount of land under the cover of tropical and subtropical forests.  A quiet getaway in the north eastern regions of India will have you refreshed in no time.  The pace of life is slow and tension free.

In the southernmost slice of north eastern India lays Mizoram. Tranquil and evergreen this place just oozes charm.

The land of the Blue Mountains, evergreen forests, dense jungles, and intoxicating flora and fauna abound in this stunning landscape.  Amazingly lush rice paddies and beautiful rivers and waterfalls will steal your heart and run off with it.  Be careful for fear you may not get it back.

The abode of the clouds is a cool, fresh and incredibly apt name for the state of Meghalaya.

Taken out of Assam in 1972, Meghalaya is a hilly state in direct contrast to the sweltering Assam plains. Meghalaya claims two of the wettest places on earth: Cherapunji and Mawsynram and the higher than average precipitation makes for some absolutely incredible waterfalls.

Literally meaning jeweled town how could you not fall in love with this stunning state in the north east of India.

Small and picturesque, Manipur sets a tone here in the north east of India that cannot be matched.  The people are polite and hospitable and emanate a culture rich in heritage and tradition.

Assam is often described as fascinating and is one of the most accessible cores of the north east of India.

Settled in the fertile Brahmaputra valley Assam offers the most archetypal of Assamese landscapes.  Not the least of which are the absolutely stunning endless gold and green rice fields only broken by groves of bamboo and palms, with a stunning backdrop of hazy blue Mountains-who could resist?

Dense forest lined ridges pierce the sky in Arunachal Pradesh where stunning snow capped peaks announce the Chinese border.

Boasting at least 65 different tribal groups it is of no doubt that the cultural diversity of the area is incredibly high.  Arunachal Pradesh is a state that offers high diversity in its culture and landscape and it has some brilliant tourist destinations so it is especially sad that permits remain annoying and expensive enough to deter most potential foreign visitors.
