Jharkhand – Travel to Jharkhand – Tour to Jharkhand
Bengal tiger, India

Jharkhand is an immensely rich state in India’s Eastern regions with a staggering 40% of the countries mineral wealth.

One of the three new states created in 2000. Jharkhand was taken from neighboring Bihar to meet the growing demands of the Adivasi tribal population.  The new state has, as already mentioned, a staggering 40% of the countries mineral wealth, rich forests, major industrial centers and a healthy budget but despite this the new state still suffers.

The demands of the tribal populations, crippling poverty, corruption and insurgent violence still force the fledgling state into a state of emergency.
