It is believed that his spirit rests in the island of floating reed found amidst the lake water. The tenth guru of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh resided here for a month. Sage Lomas, in devotion to Lord Shiva made a penance here. The lake of KuntBhyog, lying above Rewalsar has a significant reference to the great epic Mahabharata, where the Pandavas is said to have escaped from the burning wax palace. Tourism of Rewalsar Lake Rewalsar serves as an important place in Buddhism that is spread in Tibet. You can see a temple for great guru Padmasambhav who is treated as second Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism. A 12 m high statue of guru Padmasambhav is under construction right up the hill, which is widely visible from the lake area and is a big tourist attraction. It is believed that after the visit to this holy lake and paying respects to Guru Padmasambhav, one's life becomes meaningful, bestowed with wisdom and bliss.
