History of Bandhavgarh National Park

The history of Bandhavgarh is royal indeed. This was earlier the hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and is now home to the Royal Bengal Tigers as well as the rare White Tigers. The year 1968 saw the declaration of Bandhavgarh as a national park and it has continued to be the unspoiled home to many species of wildlife. In 1993, this national park was declared to be a tiger reserve, and boasts of the largest tiger population in India.
