Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park is a tiger reserve in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. This horse shoe shaped valley extends over an area of 1,940 sqkms. The park was created in 1955 as a step to protect the endangered species and variety of animals under a special law. In 1974 Project Tiger was initiated from this place to preserve tigers and the rare Swamp Deer. Conservation program of the flora and fauna makes it one of the most spectacular protected wildlife reserves in Asia. This picturesque and beautiful wild life habitat is also the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling’s classic Jungle Book and hence after it has been named as Kipling country. Kanha Wildlife Attractions

Kanha is one of those few national parks which boasts of a wide diversity of wildlife. Considered one of the most of efficiently organized and well maintained national parks in India, it is home to the endangered Royal Bengal tiger. Lush sal and bamboo forest offer thick green foliage stretching right up to the Maikal hills of Satpura range. The green meadows, meandering streams and narrow valleys also make up the landscape of this beautiful national park.

While at Kanha also make a trip to the Bamni Dadar, a sunset point which offer you a breathtaking view against the backdrop of the sunset.
