Ramadas were a tax revenue collector at the time. He collected money from people to build the temple but was stalled part way through when there was not enough money. When the collections were not sufficient, he used tax collections and was jailed for 12 years for doing so by the king at the time. When the devotees Sri Ram and his brother Laxmana heard of Ramanas Plight they repaid the money to the king and Ramanas was released. It is this sense of devotion that keeps the temple so alive in spirit still today as it was when it was first completed. Soak up the atmosphere Bhadrachalam is a place where you can get swept away in the atmosphere, so if you get a chance you should sit back relax and just take it all in, the temple complex is perfect for this on work days. A little quiet reflection in the beautiful surroundings could leave you feeling refreshed. The atmosphere can change though, especially during the days of the festival of of Ramnavmi, the place reflects a different energy, filled with devotion and religious zeal.
