Arambol, also known as Harmal, is a palm fringed and unique secluded beach in Goa.

Arambol is a perfect destination for an idyllic vacation in India during winter. The beach is for the fun-loving backpackers as accommodation is usually found in home-stays. This lovely expanse of sand and water is situated in north Goa, 50 kms from Panaji, the capital of Goa making it a quiet place to spend an idle getaway in India.

When on a tour to India one cannot miss visiting Goa. As is in rest of Goa the ideal time to come to Arambol would be in the winter months from November to February when the weather is pleasant and also people can spend the New Year with the local people who love to party. Fun, wine and music are the essence of Arambol.

People of Arambol

The village is a traditional fishing community who are quiet, warm and friendly.There are a few shops near the beach selling clothes, jewellery and handicrafts from across Goa and India.

Tourim in Arambol

One of the attractions in Arambol is the Old Portuguese Terekhol fort, which can only be reached by a ferry. The fort built in the 18th century has a small chapel dedicated to St. Anthony inside.

Going further behind the fresh water-lake is a dense forest with a wide variety of herbal plants. A walk in this “herbal” forest with a cool and clean atmosphere is a very soothing experience for a tourist. A walk will also lead you to a huge Banyan tree with a Sivalinga temple under it. 

Also for some tourists with a zeal and zest for adventure the cliffs flanking the spotless beaches are famous for paragliding and dolphin watching boat trips

Although the beach is ideal for swimming, there are several other bays like Querim beach 12km away from the main beach which is among the few beaches in India that maintains its natural serenity.
