Bhavnagar, the port city founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil is also known as the cultural capital of Saurashtra. Bhavnagar was founded by Bhavsinhji Gohil in 1703 AD. It is the fifth largest city in Gujarat. This region experiences a high incidence of geological activity and falls under seismic zone III.
