Take time out to visit the St. Alex Church, which is a famous spot at Calangute & Baga. This church has a magnificent dome that is worth seeing, and two splendid towers. The architecture and style of the interiors will take you back in time.

The beach also plays host to the Kerkar Art Complex which has a large exhibition of crafts from local artists. This art complex is also a spot where there is Indian classical dance and music on Thursdays and Fridays. Take a walk down the narrow road that goes along the cashew-covered foothills past the Bom Viagem Convent. You will find yourself at the Mottant sprints, which are said to be medicinal. Take time out to bathe in these springs, or just have a small picnic. You will be refreshed after the experience.

The Baga Retreat House, which was earlier called the Casa de Retiros, is located on the Baga hilltop. This should definitely be on your travel itinerary. It overlooks the Arabian Sea as well as the village below. You will find the view here, exhilarating.
