Solang Nullah is a picturesque ski resort situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.

Tourism in Solang Nullah

Based on the time you choose to visit you can indulge in different kinds of adventure sports. During the summer paragliding, zorbing and walking are great options while during winter you can let loose on the ski slopes. January to March is the best months for skiing and snowboarding.  The ski slope is a modest one and offers an alpine – style 1.5 km run. The good news is that efforts are now underway to up the ante and build a ropeway. This will allow the resort to enjoy a heightened status as a ski resort similar to bigger names such as Gulmarg and Auli. For beginners a draglift is already operational in the slopes that they are likely to frequent just above the village.

If you are looking to camp here for a couple of weeks to learn skiing then you could attend the 14 day basic, intermediate and advanced courses for skiing. This is conducted by the The Directorate of Mountaineering & Allied Sports and comes at an affordable cost. It is conducted between Jan to March at specific dates. Private companies also offer similar courses but they will prove to be dearer on your pocket.

If you are at an advanced level of skiing then you can plan in advance and join one of the skiing expeditions that set off in the high altitude slopes of Vashist and Manali.

Sollan Nullah owing to its magnificent location can also offer some breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains and glaciers.  The entire place is so beautiful that you are likely to lose yourself in the midst of such awe inspiring nature.  So ensure that long walks are a part of your vacation here.

The great news in summer is that you don’t have to despair since paragliding is available here. You generally take off from Phatru, a rocky incline which is east facing.  Bottom landing is your only option. You can land either near the ski school or in the fields above the village.

The place also offers many picnic spots if you are looking to spend your day outside.
